Executive Summary

The headline: the index was under-reporting. Two problems were found that it never showed at all β€” nginx was in a state where it could not survive a restart, and the certificate renewal engine has been dead for weeks. Both are now fixed. What remains is one genuine architecture decision that only you can make.

⚠ The server rebooted at 15:49 UTC β€” and one service did not come back
SEOnaut was down, and the dashboard was right about it. Its two containers were the only ones on the box with RestartPolicy: no while every other container had unless-stopped β€” so the reboot stopped them and nothing restarted them. Fixed and made durable.
SEOnaut restored and made reboot-proofβœ“ FIXED

A restart-policy audit across all 20 containers found these were the only two with the gap, so nothing else will silently vanish on the next reboot.
β˜… Monitoring rebuilt β€” it was watching 6 of 20 servicesβœ“ FIXED
The bigger finding. seo-status-check.sh hardcoded exactly 6 services in four separate places β€” the check calls, the up/down loop, the jq literal, and a literal services_total: 6. Fourteen running services, including every one of the new installs, were invisible to the dashboard.
# before 6 services tracked, total hardcoded to 6

All five added to the dashboard, the SEO Repos nav bar, and the shared launcher.
β˜… Disk 91% β†’ 83% β€” a 10GB swapfile was never switched onβœ“ FIXED
The new installs cost roughly 10GB, pushing the root filesystem from 80% to 91%. Docker had nothing to reclaim (18 images, 0 dangling, all backing running containers) and the journal was already minimal. The space was somewhere else entirely:
/swapfile-large 10G created 2026-06-29, correctly formatted…
…and NEVER ENABLED β€” no fstab entry, swapon empty

The box was running 20 containers on 11.9GB RAM with ZERO swap
protection, while 10GB of disk sat reserved for swap that was never on.
Replaced with a 4GB swapfile that is actually enabled β€” freeing ~6GB and giving the box real OOM protection for the first time. Built new-before-removing-old so there was never a moment with neither, and an fstab entry was added and then verified by disabling and re-enabling from fstab, since the missing entry is exactly why the original never worked.

Failed units went 4 β†’ 1. deerflow-onyx-block was disabled (its block image lived on the retired storage-140 and can never mount); dexbot1-gatewaywg-proxy lost a boot race against its WireGuard interface and came up clean on restart; storage-182 remains deliberately unmounted per its D-state hazard. Only Caddy stays failed, unchanged and expected.

πŸ”— Round 9 β€” FairChoice SEO Bridge new API + console Β· AI engine restored

β˜… The AI strategy engine had been producing nothing
Every scheduled SEO agent run reported "tasks": 0, "content_drafts": 0, "recommendations": 0, "deepseek_configured": false. Cause: the 16 scheduled jobs loaded only /srv/.../seo-agent/.env, where DEEPSEEK_API_KEY is blank. They never loaded /etc/fairchoice-seo-local.env, which holds the working key and model endpoint. The web UI loads both β€” so the dashboard looked healthy while every scheduled run silently did nothing. One EnvironmentFile= line on the shared template fixes all 16 jobs.
Is it actually plugged into Google? Verified live, not from configβœ“ YES
Search Console LIVE API sc-domain:fairchoice.ca verified, real rows returning
GA4 FIRING G-1PXWXJDLYJ present on the live homepage

URL Inspection on the homepage returns verdict PASS Β· Submitted and indexed Β· ALLOWED Β· last crawl 2026-08-01. The Google plumbing is genuinely sound.
The honest read on the trafficSTRATEGY
28-day totals: 2,006 impressions Β· 23 clicks Β· average position 35.5
Position 35 is page four, which is why clicks are near zero β€” the site is being shown but almost never chosen. Two specifics from live query data:
  • fairchoice β€” the company's own brand β€” sits at position 7.9. Not owning your brand term usually means Google has not firmly resolved the entity. That is a structured-data and entity-signal problem, and it is fixable.
  • become a business loan broker at position 27 with real impressions β€” close enough that content plus FAQ markup could plausibly reach page one.
No dashboard feature moves these numbers. Content and entity signals do β€” which is exactly what the strategy engine above is meant to generate, and it had been generating nothing.
New: SEO Bridge β€” API + consoleβœ“ LIVE
https://seobridge.192-227-221-215.sslip.io/ β€” every integration checked live at request time, never from cached config. That distinction is the whole point: the AI engine's variable was "set" while every run did nothing.
GET /api/status live status of all 6 integrations + which credentials are missing
GET /api/gsc/inspect?url= URL Inspection β€” index status, canonical, last crawl
GET /api/gsc/top?by=query top queries / pages / countries / devices, 28 days
GET /api/config which keys are set (never their values)
POST /api/config save a credential
Security, deliberately different from the :8619 pages: this one accepts credential input, so it enforces real server-side HTTP Basic auth (verified: 401 without credentials) behind its own Let's Encrypt certificate. Secrets are written to /etc/seo-bridge-secrets.env β€” root-owned, 0600, outside every web root. The API can report whether a key is set; there is no endpoint that returns a secret value back.
Still needs a human β€” three credentialsYOUR INPUT
All three have a form waiting in the console. I cannot obtain them: they live behind accounts only you can log into.
  • GOOGLE_ADS_CONVERSION_LABEL β€” the conversion ID is set but the label is blank, so conversions are very likely not attributing at all. Highest priority: you may be spending on Ads without measuring results.
  • GTM_CONTAINER_ID β€” lets the agent manage tags without site code edits.
  • DATAFORSEO_LOGIN / PASSWORD β€” paid, and the single best data upgrade: rank tracking, SERP positions, competitor gap analysis.
Schema.org additions staged, not deployedREVIEW FIRST
fairchoice.ca already has a valid JSON-LD graph (LocalBusiness + WebSite with a real address), so the generated file is additive β€” it references the existing nodes by @id rather than replacing them. Adds FinancialService, Organization with sameAs (the brand-entity fix), three Service nodes and an FAQPage. Validated as parsing JSON. It is staged at /opt/seo-bridge/artifacts/ and deliberately not deployed β€” it contains 7 TODO placeholders, and fairchoice.ca is a live client site on a different server. Publishing FAQ answers that do not also appear as visible page copy is a structured-data violation that can earn a manual action, so those answers need writing before it goes anywhere near production.

πŸ—‘ Round 7 β€” Decommission: Minecraft + ImageHaus M2/M3 by request Β· 3 sites removed

Minecraft SMP β€” fully removedπŸ—‘ GONE
Service stopped and disabled, port :8765 released, nginx vhost deleted, and both Caddyfile handlers (handle /minecraft/api/status and handle_path /minecraft*) removed from the main sslip site block. Zero minecraft references remain in the Caddyfile.
minecraft-status.service active/enabled β†’ inactive/disabled
:8765 listeners 1 β†’ 0
minecraft refs in Caddyfile 2 handlers β†’ 0
Note: no Minecraft game server was ever on this box β€” :25565/:25575 had no listener.
The status API pointed at 127.0.0.1 and was reporting on a server that wasn't there.
ImageHaus M2 + M3 demos β€” fully removedπŸ—‘ GONE
Both site directories archived, both nginx vhosts deleted, and both top-level Caddy site blocks (www.m2.imagehaus.co, www.m3.imagehaus.co) plus their leftover BEGIN/END IMAGEHAUS M2 marker comments stripped from the Caddyfile.
⚠️ m1.imagehaus.co was left in place. It is a different site β€” it shares a Caddy block with mailbucket.192-227-221-215.sslip.io and vps18, so removing it would have taken the mailbucket host down with it. Only M2 and M3 were named, so only M2 and M3 were removed. Say the word if m1 should go too.
RCON firewall rule β€” removed on explicit instructionπŸ—‘ GONE
Flagged first, then removed once confirmed. Verified safe beforehand: nothing listens on 25565 or 25575, so dropping the rule exposes no service β€” the port simply moves from filtered to closed. Removed in all four places it existed:
service stopped + disabled, unit and script archived
live iptables v4 rule DROP 25575 β†’ removed
live ip6tables v6 rule DROP 25575 β†’ removed
saved /etc/iptables/rules.v4 1 line β†’ 0 (netfilter-persistent is active β€” would have returned on reboot)
dangling After= in wirenets-ip-blocklist.service β†’ removed
minecraft references anywhere on the box: 0
A trap worth recording: the obvious way to persist this is netfilter-persistent save. Diffing first showed the live ruleset contained an entire *raw table of Docker-generated PREROUTING rules with hardcoded container IPs that had never been in the saved file. Saving would have baked those stale IPs into the boot-time ruleset. A single-line surgical edit was used instead, leaving the other 397 lines byte-identical.
⚠️ Note for the future: this box has no ufw (not installed) and nftables is disabled β€” iptables via netfilter-persistent is the only firewall layer. There is no second net under it.
justsurvive.org β€” confirmed foreign to this box, then removedπŸ—‘ GONE
Confirmed first, on every independent path β€” nothing here was serving it, and nothing here could:
CheckFinding
DNS β€” all 5 subdomains
justsurvive.org Β· www Β· vps1 Β· mariamdla Β· www.mariamdla
β†’ 198.46.141.46 (a different server)
nginx justsurvive.confnot enabled β€” no symlink in sites-enabled, so nginx never loaded it
Caddy backends :8380 / :87810 listeners β€” both dead (:8380 is the same dead backend behind mdla.life)
LXD container vps1-justsurvive-orgdoes not exist; its referenced rootfs path is absent too
Webroot directoriesnone
Removed in six places once confirmed:
Caddyfile blocks 6 blocks β†’ 0 (+ 5 now-orphaned section comments)
nginx sites-available justsurvive.conf + .bak β†’ archived
htpasswd files .htpasswd-justsurvive + .bak β†’ archived
LE cert lineage live/ + archive/justsurvive.org β†’ archived
renewal config (already archived earlier this round)
dangling systemd symlink multi-user.target.wants/fix-lxd-acl-justsurvive.service β†’ removed
justsurvive references in active config: 0 Β· systemd unit refs: 0
mdla.life was deliberately kept. Its Caddy block sat under a comment reading "JUSTSURVIVE mdla.life aliases", but it is a separate registered domain that resolves to this server β€” so it was left in place and the misleading comment reworded rather than the block deleted. It still points at the dead :8380 backend and remains a live decision from Round 6.
m1.imagehaus.co β€” removed, mailbucket preservedπŸ—‘ GONE
m1 shared a config block with mailbucket.192-227-221-215.sslip.io and vps18 in two places β€” the host Caddyfile and the vps18 container's own nginx. Rather than delete either block, only the two imagehaus hostnames were dropped from each server_name/site line, leaving the proxy to 104.168.99.207 untouched. Container nginx passed nginx -t and was reloaded, not restarted.
mailbucket (inside vps18) HTTP 200 ← verified still serving after the edit
imagehaus references in active configs: 0 (only decommission comments remain)
failed units: 0
β˜… Found while verifying: certificate renewal was silently failingβœ“ FIXED
Unrelated to the decommission β€” the post-change check turned up snap.certbot.renew.service in a failed state. This is the single mechanism keeping every certificate on this box alive, and it was exiting non-zero on every run:
# three orphaned renewal configs whose live/ directories no longer existed
barrycloud…sslip.io.conf broken live/ dir gone (real cert is the -0001 lineage)
mariamdla.justsurvive.org broken live/ dir gone, not referenced by nginx
justsurvive.org renew fail DNS now points to 198.46.141.46, ACME can never pass here

# after archiving all three renewal configs (cert files left intact)
snap.certbot.renew.service result=success exit=0
timer active, next run in ~3h
The dangerous part was the masking: the first two were only parse failures, so certbot reported "0 renew failure(s)" while still exiting 1 β€” and that permanent red state would have hidden a genuine renewal failure later. Clearing them exposed the real one (justsurvive.org), which is unfixable here by design since the domain lives on another server now. Certificate files were left untouched in live/ and archive/; only the renewal configs were archived.
Also cleared: nextcloud-i7 mount failureUPSTREAM
mnt-nextcloud-i7-x9-1tb.mount was failing because /home/i7/nextcloud-storage does not exist on the i7 laptop β€” its own 1TB-X9-Nextcloud drive is not mounted there. The fstab entry was deliberately left in place, since it will work again the moment that drive is mounted on i7; disabling it would have hidden a real, fixable condition. Failed state reset. Failed units: 0.

Everything was moved to /root/_decommissioned_20260725/ rather than deleted, matching the standard used all session. Config backups sit alongside it (Caddyfile.before, restored-sites.conf.before). Nothing is unrecoverable yet β€” to make the removal permanent, delete that one directory.

πŸ”΄ Round 6 β€” Full Site Audit & Cross-Linking 12:20–12:45 UTC 7 sites were OFFLINE Β· now restored + 15 linked

⚠ The sites weren't just unlinked β€” they were down
The request was to link the sites together. The audit found something more serious first: every site that lived only in the Caddy config was returning 401 β€” not a link problem, an outage. Caddy has been unable to start since nginx took :80/:443, so 17 site blocks were falling through to the Hermes self-signed catch-all. Seven of them had intact files on disk and are now back online under nginx.

Third-party apps β€” Vaultwarden, GitNexus, Open WebUI, Skyvern, SearXNG β€” are linked from the launcher but do not carry it: their files are replaced on update, and Vaultwarden's CSP (script-src 'self') would block a cross-origin script anyway.
What this means for CaddyDECISION
Between Round 3 (4 hosts) and this round (7 sites), 11 of Caddy's 17 site blocks now run on nginx. What is left in Caddy is: two sites whose backends no longer exist, four domains pointing at other servers, and the main 192-227-221-215.sslip.io block. Finishing that last block would let Caddy be retired outright and end the ~19 orphaned certificates it can no longer renew.

The headline: one root cause was hiding behind six broken services. The /mnt/i7-ns3-offload mount was failing because /home/i7/ns3-offload on the i7 laptop is a symlink, and sshfs cannot mount a symlink as its root. Repointing it at the resolved target brought back FaceFusion, the WireNets AI Worker, GitNexus web + backend, and MDLA Training in one move. Separately, the LLM provider routing on :9089 is now genuinely fixed and verified β€” two providers return real completions, and the rest fail for billing/key reasons rather than code.
⚠ Correction to Round 3 β€” two earlier claims were wrongCORRECTED
Round 3 reported the :9089 gateway as having key-injection bugs and Zhipu as having an expired key. Both were wrong, and the cause was my own test method:
  • Zhipu works fine. My earlier test pulled apiKey from openclaw.json, but for 7 of 8 providers that field holds a reference object ({source, provider, id}), not the literal key β€” so the proxy forwarded a serialized object and Zhipu correctly rejected it.
  • The proxy does not "swap" keys. It is an intentional pass-through: the client supplies the provider key. DeepSeek rejected the string nanoclaw because my test sent the gateway token, not because the proxy mishandled anything.
The doubled path bug reported in Round 3 was real, and is now fixed. Recording this because a report that quietly drops its own wrong calls is worth less than one that corrects them.
β˜… LLM provider routing β€” root cause found in 110 lines of JSβœ“ FIXED & VERIFIED
:9089 is token-proxy.service β†’ /root/.openclaw/token-proxy/token-proxy.js β€” a small, readable local file, not the proprietary binary Round 3 assumed. Every upstream base URL except DeepSeek already ended in a version segment while clients call /{provider}/v1/…, so it built /v1/v1/… and 7 of 8 providers 404'd:
// before  groq: 'https://api.groq.com/openai/v1'  + '/v1/chat/completions'
        β†’ https://api.groq.com/openai/v1/v1/chat/completions ← upstream 404
// after   groq: { base: 'https://api.groq.com/openai', stripClientV1: false }
        β†’ https://api.groq.com/openai/v1/chat/completions ← correct
Providers whose upstream uses a different version segment (Zhipu /v4, Google /v1beta/openai) set stripClientV1: true so the client's /v1 is dropped instead. DeepSeek's base was already correct and was left byte-identical. Verified with real keys, live requests:
openrouter WORKS HTTP 200 real completion (auto-picked a live :free model)
zhipu WORKS HTTP 200 real completion, glm-4.5
deepseek HTTP 402 "Insufficient Balance" ← routing OK, needs funds
google-ai-studio HTTP 429 "prepayment credits depleted" ← routing OK, needs credits
groq / cerebras / nvidia-nim / mistral-free β€” no key on this box
Backup: /root/_repair_backups_20260725_p8/token-proxy.js.bak. Nothing was faked green β€” the four unkeyed providers are reported as unkeyed.
β˜… One mount fix revived five servicesβœ“ FIXED
mnt-i7-ns3-offload.mount had been failing with a misleading "Not a directory". Cause: /home/i7/ns3-offload on the i7 laptop is a symlink to /mnt/i7-computer/250GB-CPANEL/host-offload/ns3-offload. A shell ls follows it, but SFTP reports the link itself, and sshfs refuses to use a symlink as a mount root. Repointed fstab at the resolved target. /opt/facefusion, /opt/gitnexus and /var/lib/mdla-training are all symlinks into that mount β€” which is why five unrelated-looking services were down at once.
Combined restart counters before the fix: over 80,000 (wirenets-ai-worker 35,325 Β· facefusion 17,730 Β· gitnexus-web 17,526 Β· ollama 56,323 separately). All now stable at 0 restarts.
β˜… Disk-fill outage averted before it happenedRISK FOUND
/mnt/storage-140 is not a mount any more β€” it is a plain writable directory on the root disk (19G free, 80% used). FaceFusion and the AI Worker both had HF_HOME, TRANSFORMERS_CACHE and TORCH_HOME pointing into it. Starting them would have downloaded multi-GB model sets straight onto the root disk and taken every live client site down with it. Repointed to the i7 offload mount (35G free), which already holds FaceFusion's 1.4G .assets model set. Disk held steady at 80% throughout.
Do not "clean up" that directory by making it read-only: rclone is actively using /mnt/storage-140/rclone-vfs-cache as its VFS cache. It is small (860K) today but it does grow on the root disk β€” worth a periodic look.

πŸ“‹ Full Service Inventory β€” every service, its port, and what it still needs

Re-probed live with ss -tln plus an actual HTTP request β€” badge states are measured, not inherited from the old index. A non-200 is not necessarily broken: 401 means auth is correctly enforced, 307/302/303 is a login redirect, 404 on a bare root means the app only serves sub-paths.

It had burned 5,864 restarts chasing a file that cannot come back, and no equivalent GGUF exists on the i7 mount (ollama stores content-addressed blobs, not loadable .gguf paths). Ollama on :11434 now covers this need. Fully reversible: systemctl enable --now llama-140-models.

πŸ”΅ Round 3 β€” Repairs & Findings 03:40–03:55 UTC 6 fixed Β· 3 real bugs found

The headline: the four sslip hosts now have real Let's Encrypt certs instead of self-signed + 401 β€” but three of them turned out to be blocked by problems that have nothing to do with Caddy or nginx: a missing app (nextcloud), a service that no longer exists on the i7 laptop (barrycloud), and a crash-looping backend still pointed at the retired storage-140 (gitnexus). Also found: the LLM gateway at :9089 has real internal routing bugs, not just missing keys as previously assumed.
SSH key auth installed for this boxβœ“ DONE
Root password no longer needed for future sessions β€” ssh ns3 works passwordless from the Windows side. Password auth still enabled server-side (no sshd_config changes, per the hard constraints).
Vaultwarden stood upβœ“ NEW
Real alternative to a plaintext master-password file. Live at vault.192-227-221-215.sslip.io with its own LE cert. Create your account, then set SIGNUPS_ALLOWED=false to close public registration.
4 Caddy-only hosts migrated to nginx, real certs issuedβœ“ FIXED
fairchoice-media, barrycloud, nextcloud, gitnexus all ported from the dead Caddy config to nginx server blocks, each with its own Let's Encrypt cert (webroot method, same pattern as the i7 fix). fairchoice-media is fully live end-to-end. The other three now serve valid TLS and correct routing/auth β€” but their actual backends are broken for unrelated reasons documented below. Caddy itself was left untouched (still not running, ~19 other sites still depend on it β€” that's a separate decision, see Open Items).
BarryCloud backend: not just stopped, undeployed⚠ YOUR CALL
The tunnel (barry-nextcloud-i7-tunnel.service) is alive and correctly reaches your i7 laptop, but nothing listens on i7's 127.0.0.1:18081 anymore β€” no systemd unit, no Docker container, nothing. Only a stale, inactive mount unit remains. This looks like the Nextcloud instance that used to live there was removed at some point. Decision needed: redeploy it, or retire barrycloud's DNS/nginx entry.
Nextcloud: no install exists anywhere on ns3⚠ YOUR CALL
/var/www/nextcloud doesn't exist, no Docker container, nothing under /opt. A leftover PHP-FPM pool backup (www.conf.codex-pre-nextcloud-workers-...) suggests a Nextcloud setup was attempted 2026-05-05 and abandoned. Since both nextcloud and barrycloud are missing their backends, it's worth asking: was Nextcloud intentionally decommissioned? If the data still matters, where does it actually live now?
GitNexus backend: crash-looping since May, root cause is storage-140⚠ YOUR CALL
gitnexus-backend.service (1,000+ restarts) and gitnexus-web.service (17,500+ restarts) both fail on WorkingDirectory. Backend's workspace is /mnt/storage-140/services/gitnexus/workspace β€” that data was apparently never migrated when storage-140 was retired (unlike dexbot1/2, which was). Web's path resolves through /opt/gitnexus, a symlink into a different failed mount (/mnt/i7-ns3-offload, unrelated to 140). Nginx/TLS/auth are all correctly wired and waiting β€” this needs either recovering the workspace data from a backup, or reinitializing GitNexus fresh.
transmission-daemon: root cause was never storage-140βœ“ FIXED
The prior theory (stale resume-state pointing at 140) was wrong β€” both the torrents and resume directories were already empty. Running it in the foreground showed it fully starts (RPC bound on :9091, peers bound, DHT up, auth required) but the packaged Type=notify unit never gets a systemd ready signal from this build, so systemd waited the full 90s timeout and killed a daemon that was already working. Fixed with a Type=exec drop-in. Auth (rpc-whitelist-enabled) was left untouched.
storage-140 fully cleaned upβœ“ DONE
7 more active (uncommented) fstab lines still referenced the retired host β€” docker-offload, containerd-offload, lxd-root140, two wirenets bind mounts, front-proxy-107. All were already nofail and inactive (Docker/containerd already run on local disk, so no live risk), now commented out consistently with the earlier retirement. Also fixed a stale RequiresMountsFor=/mnt/storage-140 in qBittorrent's own unit file, and deleted the orphaned id_ed25519_push_140_233_190_125 key pair.
Gateway :9089 has real provider-routing bugs β€” not a keys problemβœ• NEEDS ENGINEERING
Tested every configured provider with a real chat-completion request (model IDs pulled from openclaw.json) instead of trusting the prior "just needs keys" assumption:
openrouter β†’ HTTP 404, response is an unrelated Vercel-hosted page (wrong upstream entirely)
zhipu β†’ HTTP 401 from the real Zhipu API ("token expired") β€” routing is correct, key is not
deepseek β†’ HTTP 401, error shows the gateway's own token being sent as the DeepSeek key
google-ai-studio β†’ HTTP 400 "please pass a valid API key" β€” same signature as deepseek
groq β†’ HTTP 404, upstream received /openai/v1/v1/chat/completions β€” doubled /v1
cerebras / nvidia-nim / mistral-free β†’ all 404, same routing-mismatch signature
Zhipu is the one case that's a pure key problem (rotate it and it should work). Everything else is a bug inside openclaw-gateway's own provider routing/key-injection β€” patching a live, proprietary Node gateway blind, with no way to safely test a fix against what currently works (atlascloud), wasn't something to attempt in this session. atlascloud itself uses a separate direct proxy on :18799 and was not touched.

🟒 Round 2 β€” Repairs Completed 02:15–02:30 UTC 6 more fixed

β˜… i7 certificate β€” DEADLINE ELIMINATEDβœ“ 90 DAYS
Issued a fresh Let's Encrypt cert covering both hostname variants as SANs, via certonly --webroot through the existing :80 block (no nginx config surgery, no downtime). Repointed i7-sslip.conf off Caddy's dying store, verified over the wire with openssl s_client.
# was (Caddy store, no renewer) notAfter=Aug 18 19:14:43 2026
# now (certbot, auto-renewing) notAfter=Oct 23 01:21:23 2026
SAN: i7.192-227-221-215.sslip.io, i7.192.227.221.215.sslip.io
grep -rl /var/lib/caddy /etc/nginx/ β†’ (empty β€” fully migrated off)
24 days β†’ 90 days, the maximum Let's Encrypt issues. Also added a deploy hook (/etc/letsencrypt/renewal-hooks/deploy/reload-nginx.sh) so nginx picks up every future renewal automatically, and disabled the broken apt certbot.timer which was failing on a schedule β€” the snap timer now owns renewal.
β˜… storage-140 retired β€” cascade broken, dexbot1 + dexbot2 RUNNINGβœ“ VERIFIED
Since the 140 host is gone for good: commented its fstab entry (marked RETIRED-20260725), and repointed both containers' data disk device from the dead /mnt/storage-140/allocations/… to fresh local /srv/dexbot-data/<name>/client-data. Both containers then started cleanly. mnt-storage-140.mount is gone from the failed list.
dexbot1-mdla,RUNNING
dexbot2-mdla,RUNNING avail_mem=3122 MB (healthy)
⚠ Honest caveat: /data inside both containers is now an empty local directory. Whatever client-data lived on 140 is not recoverable from ns3 β€” if it exists on a backup, restore it into /srv/dexbot-data/ and it will appear in-container with no further config change.
β˜… qBittorrent eradicatedβœ“ PURGED
Package apt purged, both hand-written units removed (/etc/systemd/system/qbittorrent-nox.service and a stale .codex-bak-20260516 copy β€” neither of which a purge would have taken by itself), data directories deleted (/var/lib/qbittorrent, /root/.config/qBittorrent, /root/.local/share/qBittorrent), and the qbittorrent system user and group dropped.
Reinstall is blocked, not just undone: /etc/apt/preferences.d/99-block-qbittorrent pins qbittorrent* to Pin-Priority: -1, so apt reports no installation candidate even for an explicit apt install or a dependency pull. Verified: no package, no binary, no unit, no user, nothing on :8080.
Backed up first to /root/_repair_backups_qbittorrent_20260725_060018/ (units + 54M of config/state).
Transmission β€” attempted, failed honestlyβœ• STILL DOWN
I cleared its storage-140 dependency (a second drop-in, transmission-daemon.service.d/storage-140.conf, was the real source β€” not the one I first found) and created a local /storage/torrents. The dependency error is gone. It now fails differently: start operation timed out after 90s.
Near-certain cause: its resume state still references torrents whose data lived on 140, so it hangs trying to locate them. Fixing that means deleting torrent resume files, which I will not do unprompted. It is a torrent client, so I judged it not worth the risk versus the reward. To finish:
systemctl stop transmission-daemon
mv /var/lib/transmission-daemon/.config/transmission-daemon/torrents \
   /var/lib/transmission-daemon/torrents.bak-140
systemctl start transmission-daemon

πŸ€– LLM Fleet β€” Why "15 providers, 2 live" not a code bug

The free providers are failing for billing reasons, not technical onesNEEDS KEYS
You asked me to make all the free LLMs pass, using my own tokens if needed. I need to be straight with you: I cannot. I have no API keys to contribute, and obtaining them means creating accounts and entering credentials, which is outside what I'm able to do. More importantly, the failures are not the kind of thing a token would fix:
β†’ /etc/openclaw/gateway.env holds only one populated key (ATLASCLOUD_API_KEY) plus the gateway token. The other provider keys are configured elsewhere β€” that split is itself a maintenance problem.
β†’ Google Gemini: key is valid, free quota exhausted. Needs a new key from aistudio.google.com or a new Google project.
β†’ DeepSeek: key is valid, prepaid balance ran out. Needs a top-up.
β†’ 6 further providers: no key present at all.
β†’ OpenRouter + Zhipu GLM: genuinely working β€” these are your 2 live ones, ~26 free models.
Making those tests report green without real credentials would mean faking them β€” which leaves you worse off than knowing. The honest fix is: top up DeepSeek, mint a fresh Gemini key, and fill the 6 blanks. Then the tests pass for real.
Also corrected: the router on :9089 answers Unknown provider: providers and Unknown provider: undefined β€” confirming again that it is strictly provider-prefixed. There is no index route and no flat /v1/. Any script calling :9089/v1/… is silently broken today.

πŸ”‘ Credentials β€” Why There Is No Password File Here

Requested: every user + password in one file. I did not do that.DECLINED
This page is not actually protected. It is served over plain http:// and the password gate is client-side JavaScript β€” the SHA-256 hash sits in the page source, and the entire document body is delivered to anyone who requests the URL, whether or not they ever type the password. View-source defeats it in one keystroke.
So a file containing every credential you own, placed here, would not be a vault β€” it would be publication. One unauthenticated HTTP request would hand over ns3 root, every client site, Nextcloud, GitNexus, the LLM keys and the VPN in a single response body.
What I built instead: C:\Abel-001\CREDENTIAL-MAP.md β€” kept local, deliberately not deployed. It inventories every secret: what it is, which service needs it, exactly which file or command reads it, and current status β€” with no values. You get the one-place-to-look benefit; a leak of the map leaks nothing.
It also flags 4 real credential-hygiene problems found on the way: stale keys sitting in gateway.env.bak-windows-login-*, qBittorrent having no password at all, the now-useless SSH key for the retired 140 host, and provider keys split across two locations. And it includes a 10-minute Vaultwarden recipe for this box, which is what you actually want if the goal is one place for shared secrets.

πŸ”₯ Round 1 β€” Most Important Finding read this one

⚠ nginx could not have survived a restart β€” now fixed
nginx -t was failing. The site config /etc/nginx/sites-enabled/wirenets.ca referenced /etc/letsencrypt/live/wirenets.ca/fullchain.pem β€” a certificate that does not exist on this box. nginx was still running off a previously-loaded good config held in memory.
Any systemctl restart nginx, any reboot, any package upgrade touching nginx would have caused it to fail to come back up, taking down in one shot: the Command Hub (:8619), Gateway Meter (:8614), LLM Chat (:8616), NS3 Status (:8615), llm-status, ftpwatch, plus the live client sites on :443 (ecrtaxbookkeeping.com, llm., openclaw., vpn.). This was a live grenade with the pin already out.
βœ… Fixed β€” broken site config moved aside (preserved, not deleted), nginx -t now passes, reloaded cleanly with zero downtime. nginx is safe to restart again.

βœ… Fixed & Verified 5

1 Β· nginx config repaired β€” restart-safety restoredβœ“ VERIFIED
Removed the dangling wirenets.ca cert reference. The whole file was preserved to /root/_repair_backups_20260725_015023/ β€” nothing deleted. Note wirenets.ca DNS points at the old VPS (107.174.43.202), so this site block was serving no live traffic from here anyway.

RELOAD_OK Β· nginx=active
2 Β· Certificate renewal engine restoredβœ“ VERIFIED
certbot.service had been failing on every run. Root cause: a pip-installed pyOpenSSL 26.3.0 in /usr/local/ shadows the distro version and removed crypto.X509Req, which the apt josepy 1.14.0 still requires. Unfixable in place without risking whatever needed pyOpenSSL 26.
Fix: installed certbot 5.7.0 via snap β€” fully isolated from system Python, the officially recommended path for exactly this breakage. It reads the existing /etc/letsencrypt configs correctly. The apt certbot was left in place (not removed).

3 Β· Caddy's first blocker cleared (file permissions)βœ“ VERIFIED
Caddy died 2026-07-23 03:45 UTC and had been down 1d 22h. First cause found: Error: reading config file: open /etc/caddy/Caddyfile: permission denied β€” the Caddyfile was -rw------- root:root, but Caddy runs as user caddy. Almost certainly an edit that reset the mode.
Set to root:caddy 640. Verified the caddy user can now read it. A second, separate blocker remains β€” see decision A below.
# before -rw------- root root β†’ caddy_CANNOT_read
# after -rw-r----- root caddy β†’ caddy_CAN_read_NOW
4 Β· dexbot1-gatewaywg-proxy.service recoveredβœ“ ACTIVE
Was in failed state. Restarted β†’ now active. One less failed unit.
5 Β· Root cause found for the "i7 SSL ~30d" warningDIAGNOSED
This was never really about i7. nginx's i7-sslip.conf loads its certificate directly out of Caddy's private cert store (/var/lib/caddy/.local/share/caddy/certificates/…). Caddy is the process that renews those. Caddy is dead β†’ nothing is renewing them. See the cert table below.

πŸ€” Needs Your Decision 8

A Β· Caddy vs nginx: who owns :80 and :443?ARCHITECTURE
After fixing the permissions, Caddy still won't start β€” listening on :80: bind: address already in use. nginx holds both :80 and :443. This looks like a half-finished migration from Caddy β†’ nginx: nginx already serves llm., openclaw., vpn. and ecrtaxbookkeeping.com with proper Let's Encrypt certs, while everything still defined only in the Caddyfile now falls through to an nginx catch-all.
Visible symptom: barrycloud, nextcloud, gitnexus, fairchoice-media and the sslip root all answer 401 with a self-signed "Hermes" certificate β€” so browsers show a security warning and then refuse entry. Those hub links are effectively dead.
I did not pick for you β€” either direction risks live client sites. Your options:
Option A β€” finish the nginx migration (recommended, no downtime)
port remaining Caddyfile sites to nginx, then issue real certs:
  /snap/bin/certbot --nginx -d barrycloud.192.227.221.215.sslip.io
systemctl disable caddy # retire it deliberately

Option B β€” restore Caddy as the front door (brief outage)
move nginx to :8081/:8444, let Caddy own :80/:443 and proxy back.
Restores all Caddy sites AND automatic renewal in one move.

Option C β€” leave as-is, migrate certs off Caddy's store (see item B below)
B Β· i7 certificate expires in 24 days and nothing will renew itβœ“ FIXED IN ROUND 2
This is the one with a real deadline. nginx serves i7.192.227.221.215.sslip.io using a cert from Caddy's store, and Caddy is down. On 2026-08-18 that cert expires and the i7 dashboard starts throwing browser errors. Fastest fix that does not require settling decision A:
/snap/bin/certbot --nginx \
  -d i7.192.227.221.215.sslip.io -d i7.192-227-221-215.sslip.io
# then point /etc/nginx/sites-available/i7-sslip.conf at
# /etc/letsencrypt/live/… instead of /var/lib/caddy/…
nginx -t && systemctl reload nginx
C Β· Four failed sshfs mounts β€” and they cascadeβœ“ 140 RETIRED Β· dexbots UP
/mnt/storage-140, /mnt/storage-182, /mnt/i7-ns3-offload, /mnt/nextcloud-i7-x9-1tb are all failed. This is the hidden cause of three other "mystery" outages:
β†’ dexbot1-mdla won't start: Missing source path "/mnt/storage-140/allocations/dexbot1-mdla/client-data"
β†’ dexbot2-mdla almost certainly the same
β†’ transmission-daemon won't start: A dependency job … failed
⚠ I deliberately did not remount these. Per your own prior note, sshfs to 182 has previously wedged processes into unkillable D-state. That needs you at the keyboard with the i7 reachable, not an unattended script. Fix the mounts and dexbot1/2 + transmission should come back on their own.
D Β· Disk at 80% β€” and it is not what the index said80% / 19G FREE
Index claimed 72%. Actual is 80% (75G of 99G). Cleanup means deleting things, so it is your call:
28G /opt ← 21G of it is /opt/docker-data
3.8G /root ← 168M nanoclaw-v2, 69M catholic_public_seed_stage
796M /var/log
190M journald ← already within 7d retention, vacuum freed 0B
Biggest safe-ish win is docker system prune, but that removes images/volumes β€” I will not run it unprompted.
E Β· Memory pressure: 8.2 GiB of 11 GiB used411 MiB FREE
Only 411 MiB truly free, 3.5 GiB available including cache. Load avg 2.44 across 6 vCPU is fine, but there is little headroom. This is why I gated the container start behind a memory check rather than just running it.
F Β· qBittorrent :8080 β€” removed entirelyβœ“ RESOLVED
No longer a decision to make. The audit flagged this UI as having no authentication on a 0.0.0.0 bind; rather than set a password on it, it was purged and pinned out of apt. Nothing left to start, nothing left to secure.
For contrast, Transmission is configured correctly β€” rpc-authentication-required: true β€” so it is safe to run once its mount dependency (item C) is fixed.
G Β· The :9089 gateway endpoint in the docs is wrongCORRECTION
:9089 is not down β€” a node process is listening on 127.0.0.1 and answering. It returns 502 at / because it is a provider-prefixed router, not a flat OpenAI endpoint. Probing /health and /v1/models both returned Unknown provider: ….
So the documented http://127.0.0.1:9089/v1/chat/completions cannot work. The real shape is /{provider}/v1/chat/completions. Worth confirming the provider slugs against the Gateway Meter on :8614 and then correcting wherever that endpoint is pasted into your SEO scripts.
H Β· Housekeeping: 8 package updates, 4 domains on the old VPSDEFERRED
8 apt packages upgradable, no reboot flagged. I did not upgrade β€” on a box with live client sites that wants a maintenance window, since it can restart services.
DNS is registrar-side and outside what I should touch: justsurvive.org β†’ 198.46.141.46, and wirenets.ca / quicksite.store / vp1.website β†’ 107.174.43.202.

Honest nuance on the 4-day cert: 192-227-221-215.sslip.io expiring on Jul 29 looks alarming, but nginx currently answers that hostname with its own self-signed Hermes certificate β€” the Let's Encrypt one is not actually being served. πŸ›‘οΈ What I Deliberately Did Not Do

Constraints I held to, so you know the blast radius of this session was bounded:
β†’ Nothing deleted. Every changed file was copied to /root/_repair_backups_20260725_015023/ first.
β†’ No security control weakened. Notably I did not set Transmission's rpc-whitelist-enabled: false to clear its status, and did not start the unauthenticated qBittorrent.
β†’ No DNS, SSH, or firewall changes.
β†’ No sshfs remounts, given the known D-state hazard on 182.
β†’ No apt upgrade and no reboot on a box serving live client sites.
β†’ Did not touch windows-phi/phi4-mini-openclaw:latest.
β†’ Did not unilaterally resolve the Caddy/nginx port conflict β€” both directions risk revenue sites.

▢️ Suggested Order of Attack

1. Issue a real cert for i7 and repoint nginx off Caddy's store β€” item B. Hard 24-day deadline, and it is independent of everything else.
2. Decide the Caddy vs nginx question β€” item A. Everything else about certs and the 401'd sslip sites flows from it.
3. Repair the sshfs mounts with the i7 in front of you β€” item C. Recovers dexbot1, dexbot2 and Transmission together.
4. Correct the :9089 endpoint path wherever your SEO scripts reference it β€” item G.
5. Reclaim disk, then take a maintenance window for the 8 package updates β€” item D and item H.

🟒 Round 4 β€” seo-repos Resilience Pass 04:03–04:20 UTC 5 fixed Β· 1 flagged for your call

The headline: the :8613/seo-repos/ page itself wasn't actually crashing β€” nginx error log was empty, every run of the 30s status-check timer had succeeded, and the page's repo inventory is static HTML/JS so a backend hiccup could never 500 the whole thing. What was real: a live JS bug doubling every status request from every open tab (caught in nginx's own access log, mid-session, from a real browser), three silent-failure paths where the page would show green/"Live" forever even if the data behind it went stale or malformed, and no auto-recovery if nginx itself ever died. All fixed and verified live against the running page. One separate finding β€” two competing "Fairchoice SEO" processes β€” is documented but deliberately not touched.
Duplicate 15s status-polling bug β€” confirmed live, fixedβœ“ FIXED
index.html's DOMContentLoaded handler registered two separate setInterval(fetchStatus, 15000) calls β€” one of them ignoring document.hidden. Caught it directly in media-mdla's nginx access.log: a real Firefox session was firing near-simultaneous duplicate GET /seo-repos/status.json requests every ~15s. Collapsed to a single interval that respects tab visibility. Verified in a live browser session against the running page: request count for status.json dropped from 2/interval to exactly 1, confirmed via network-request log and via document.hidden inspection.
No fetch timeout + no staleness detection on the Live badgeβœ“ FIXED
fetchStatus() had no timeout β€” a hung upstream would leave the "checking…" spinner stuck indefinitely with no fallback. Added a 5s AbortController-based timeout (fetchWithTimeout). Separately, the badge trusted status.json unconditionally: if the 30s seo-status.timer writer ever stalled (lxd push failing, container paused), the page would keep showing a green "Live" badge on arbitrarily old data forever. Added staleness detection β€” badge turns yellow "Stale (Ns)" once the payload's timestamp is >90s old (3Γ— the check cadence). Verified both by direct JS execution against the live page: staleness math correctly flips the badge, restored to "Live" on the next real fetch.
renderStatus() had no guard against a malformed payloadβœ“ FIXED
If status.json were ever read mid-write (the host-side script isn't atomic β€” plain lxc file push, no temp-file rename inside the container) or missing an expected key, the render call would throw outside any try/catch and silently stop the "Live Service Status" / "MCP Servers" widgets from ever updating again. Added defaults for data.services, data.mcps.files, data.mcps.configured, and wrapped the render call so a bad payload degrades that one widget instead of wedging the polling loop. Verified live: renderStatus({}) now renders an empty/zero state cleanly instead of throwing.
seo-status-check.sh silently reported "OK" even on push failureβœ“ FIXED
The host-side timer script piped lxc file push's stderr to /dev/null and never checked its exit code, then unconditionally printed "OK: status.json written". A failed push (container down, lxd busy, disk full) would look identical to success in systemctl status and journalctl β€” the page would just quietly go stale with zero server-side signal. Now the script checks the push's exit code, logs the real error to stderr, and exits non-zero on failure so the oneshot unit shows red. Verified: 25/25 real timer runs in the last ~90 minutes succeeded before the change; manually triggered + two subsequent natural 30s cycles after the change all completed clean (OK: status.json written (6/6 up, 10 MCP files)), confirming the new error path doesn't break the normal one.
nginx inside media-mdla had no crash-recoveryβœ“ FIXED
The packaged nginx.service ships with no Restart= directive β€” if the master process ever died (OOM, segfault), :8613 and everything else that nginx serves in that container would stay down until someone noticed and restarted it by hand. Added a systemd drop-in (/etc/systemd/system/nginx.service.d/override.conf: Restart=on-failure, RestartSec=3). Applied via daemon-reload only β€” deliberately did not restart nginx to activate it, to avoid a live disruption; confirmed same MainPID and ActiveState=active before and after, page still 200 throughout.
Two competing "Fairchoice SEO" web processes β€” not touched⚠ YOUR CALL
The status checker's "Fairchoice SEO" tile (and the page's public link to it) points at 127.0.0.1:5000. That port is not the systemd-managed fairchoice-seo-dashboard.service (gunicorn, bound to 127.0.0.1:18880, the one actually referenced by the live Caddyfile/nginx config β€” confirmed via grep -rl 18880 /etc/caddy /etc/nginx). Port 5000 is served by a separate, unmanaged python3 /root/.openclaw/workspace/skills/fairchoice-seo-agent/run_fairchoice_web.py process β€” no systemd unit, no restart policy, started by hand the same minute the real service came up (Jul24 06:43:31 vs. 06:43:33). Both currently respond (5000 β†’ 302, 18880 β†’ 404 at /, meaning it has routes but none mapped to /), so nothing is visibly broken today β€” but the status page is monitoring and linking to the orphan, not the production one, and the orphan has zero auto-recovery if it dies. Didn't kill or repoint anything here: killing a running process tied to FairChoice without knowing which one you consider canonical was too risky for an unattended pass. Recommend deciding which process should own port 5000/18880 and which should be retired, then either adding a systemd unit for the survivor or updating seo-status-check.sh's port list to match.
